Jake Schogger is a best-selling commercial awareness author, ex-Magic Circle lawyer, co-founder of Law Student Academy, and the founder and CEO of legal careers platform Commercial Law Academy.

He trained at Freshfields, then spent years at a boutique law firm advising start-ups and scale-ups on a range of corporate, commercial and employment matters. He has also published eight books covering career development and legal education (including two best-sellers), worked extensively as a career coach, and delivered countless employability and skills presentations at leading universities and law firms across the UK.

James Richardson

Co-founder, Senior Lawyer & Academic Author

James is a highly experienced solicitor and academic legal author. He trained and qualified at major transatlantic firm Hogan Lovells, where he worked for years in their Commercial Litigation, Product Liability, and Insurance team. After stints in Hong Kong, Munich, and working as an M&A Underwriter, James moved in-house and is currently Head of Legal, Risk and Compliance at Insurtech scale-up Cuvva.

James also founded and ran Law Answered for a decade, where he published 42 critically-acclaimed revision guides for postgraduate law courses, which have helped tens of thousands of students through their exams.
